Start with the symptom you’re seeing. Most problems take a few minutes to fix.
| What you see | Most likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No weather on the ground | Normal: ground stations are out of range on the ramp | No weather or traffic |
| Red light only, or flashing green | Corrupt microSD card | Reflash the card |
| Blinking red, random reboots | Not enough power | Use a 2 A source. See Power and batteries |
| GPS “Serial Port (Not communicating)” | GPS knocked loose inside the case | GPS troubleshooting (video) |
| No GPS fix after a reflash | Cold start | Leave it outside 10 to 20 minutes |
| A target follows you everywhere | Your own aircraft echoed back | Ghost traffic |
| Loose antenna port | Nut loosened inside the case | Tighten antenna ports (video) |
| Data stops on an Android tablet | Power saving mode | Tablet setup |
| Only powers on when you press on the cable | Worn power port | A hardware fix; reflashing won’t help. See Warranty and repairs |
Check the status page
Join the stratux Wi-Fi and open 192.168.10.1. It shows GPS, message counts for each radio, and AHRS status. If the page loads, the receiver is working and the problem is usually in your app’s settings.
Before you contact us
It speeds things up if you tell us: where you bought it (our website or Amazon) and roughly when, what the lights show, what the status page shows for GPS and the radios, your power source, and whether the problem happens on the ground or in flight.
